SSi PGA 3510 Portable Three Gas Analyser (CO, CO2, CH4)
Portable infrared analyser measuring CO, CO2 and CH4 for verifying, optimising and troubleshooting furnace and generator atmospheres.
Analysers and meters
Replaces the shim stock method by calculating carbon potential from the electrical resistance of a steel coil.
The CAT-100 determines the carbon potential of a positive pressure furnace atmosphere from the electrical properties of a steel wire coil that has been exposed to the carbon bearing gas for a defined time. The method is comparable to shim stock analysis, but without quenching, weighing or any calculation by the operator.
The coil is inserted into the furnace, soaked for about 30 minutes and then placed in the test unit, where the %C reading appears on the colour touch screen within seconds. Results are recorded onboard, can be downloaded and exported to Excel and suit CQI-9 daily carbon checks. The coils are not compatible with carbonitriding processes.
| Accuracy | ± 0.03 % carbon |
|---|---|
| Measuring range | 0.1 to 1.3 % carbon |
| Read time | 30 seconds per coil |
| Soak time in the furnace | approx. 30 minutes |
| Operating temperature | 10 to 43 °C (50 to 110 °F) |
| Input power range | Universal, 85-264 VAC |
| Communications | Ethernet, Modbus TCP, USB |
| Limitation | Coils are not compatible with carbonitriding processes |
Applications
The probe measures and controls the carbon potential in controlled atmospheres, whatever the furnace design.
